CABINET REFINISHING

Average Investment Varies by Project Size
Average Timeline: 1-2 Weeks

Kitchens are the most expensive area of your home to remodel. Refinishing your cabinets is a more cost-effective option to updating your kitchen vs ripping it all out and starting over with a messy construction site. It is also less time-consuming often taking days vs months to complete. We strive to provide you with a long-lasting industrial finish that is simple to clean and very durable. Our process will leave you with a fresh and modernized appearance for the kitchen you’ve always dreamed of.

OUR PROCESS

We use products and procedures standardized by the KCMA (kitchen cabinet manufactures association). We perform an extensive cleaning and degreasing process that is critical for kitchen cabinets due to all the grease and food particle contamination. Followed by cleaning we thoroughly sand all cabinet boxes and doors. We also create a barrier in the kitchen with a hepa filtered in-line fan to filter out paint particles and fumes. Lacquer dries very hard and is very durable which is why it is the only topcoat that the KCMA recommends to use on kitchen cabinets. These procedures can truly only be performed with the correct knowledge and expertise of these procedures as well as access and knowledge of the machines that create a factory quality finish.

DOORS & DRAWERS

The doors and drawers will be prepped, sanded, primed, sanded again, and finish coated in our workshop. With pre-painted doors, we will do an adhesion test to see the condition of the current paint and determine what steps we need to take to get our customers the best results.

INSTALLATION

Our crew will carefully package up all the doors in foam pouches and transport to the customers home. We will unload and re-install all drawers and doors.

GETTING STARTED

Before we come into your home, here are some helpful tips to streamline the processes.

  1. Remove everything from the counters and off the top of the upper cabinets and move it to a safe place. *If we must take time to remove items from cabinets or items from drawers it will take additional time and we will need to charge for that time.

  2. FLOORS: Please sweep the floors with a vacuum or wet/dry vac. Wet mop your floor. Get a cloth and make sure to get any hair or dirt that may be up under the cabinets and along the toe kick area. We want to avoid any dirt, dust, hair, etc. from being kicked up and settle in the paint. *If we must take time to sweep up the floors and make sure there is no hair that would stick to the paint, it will take additional time and we will need to charge for that time.

  3. SINK AREA: The sink area will be used for general clean-up, so please make sure the kitchen sink is clear of dishes on our designated working days. If you have a slop sink that we will have access to, we will do our heavy cleaning in there. We do our best to care for your home as we work, and we’ve found it is always best to have the sink accessible as we work.

  4. APPLIANCES: If you wish for hidden end panels around appliances to be painted, please have the appliances removed to enable us to paint in those areas. Any appliances left in place will be taped, protected, and painted around.

  5. PETS: Be sure to place animals in an area that is blocked off so they cannot get into the working area while we are working in your home. If you have cats that can jump over the barricades, please make sure to arrange a different area for them to stay while your renovation is taking place. Pet hair can travel through the air and settle in the paint. Once the coating is dry, you can let the pets back into the kitchen.

  6. DURING THE RENOVATION: For the first three days of the renovation, we ask that you refrain from heavy cooking during the renovation due to oils, smoke, and dirt that could contaminate your cabinets and could cause insufficient adhesion for the primer and paint.
